You are not permitted to distribute a texture you derive from a texture you've purchased from DAZ 3D, except for products specifically designated as texture resources.

You are not permitted to distribute a model you derive from the geometry. You are not permitted to give a copy of the model (geometry) to another party. The EULA forbids you from redistributing the geometry and the textures. You, the creator, own the legal rights to these creations. You can make a still picture, an animation, or even use special hardware to make a physical 3D representation, such as by a CNC. The EULA (End User License Agreement) for our content products allows you to use the renders from the products you use. especially since I can't draw a lick and am no good at graphics design.

If I have to scratch the Daz Studio idea What are some easy character creation tools that will work in Unity without me having to learn something as complicated as Blender with a 6 month learning curve. I have read several post in these Unity forums from people who say they have gotten Daz Studio files to work in Unity (though this is with the Daz Studio FBX export tool) so I thought someone may have tried this same idea before and found a way to make it work. I am using unity 2.5 for windows Indie and the latest Daz Studio 2.3. why would the file be so large?ĭoes this happen normally when you use the Daz Studio made FBX export tool? If so, how then do you get this file to with with Unity? I did a search and found that this is because the converter tool searches for and adds all the textures found in the original obj file so you will have them available to make the character work once you import it into a new application. After I convert the file the resulting FBX is about 300 MB. To me this logic makes perfect sense but because I'm a newbie I may be missing something because it doesn't seem to work.įor one thing when I export the OBJ file it starts off around 12 MB.
